About the role

We are looking for a practical Planning Engineer / Project Planner to join our site team for a government building construction project in Sabah. The role will focus on site progress monitoring, programme updating, progress reporting and coordination with the project team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site walks, monitor physical progress against planned targets and highlight potential delays to the Project Manager

• Prepare and update the project construction programme using Microsoft Project (MS Project) and assist in preparing look-ahead and recovery programmes when required

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, physical S-Curves and programme updates for client and management review, based on actual site progress

• Coordinate closely with Project Manager, Site Engineers, QS, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and verify accurate progress information

• Monitor construction activities and ensure progress is properly reflected in the project programme

• Maintain proper planning records, programme updates and supporting progress documentation

About you

• Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction planning / progress monitoring

• Practical hands-on experience using Microsoft Project (MS Project)

• Primavera P6 experience is an added advantage

• Building construction experience is preferred

• Good understanding of construction sequence and progress monitoring

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Willing to be stationed at the project site in Sabah
