Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software.
• Prepare sheet metal flat patterns, laser cutting drawings, bending drawings, welding details, and assembly drawings.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and production efficiency.
• Develop product and manufacturing processes for sheet metal, stamping, machining, welding, and assembly.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
• Provide engineering support during prototype, first article, and mass production stages.
• Review and update engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other technical documents.
• Support new product development and engineering changes, including preparation of ECN/ECR where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve product design, reduce material usage, manufacturing cost, and production lead time.
• Communicate with customers on technical requirements, drawing clarification, and design-related issues when required.
• Ensure engineering documents and drawings comply with customer requirements and company standards.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, precision manufacturing, or related industries will be an advantage.
• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS or other 3D CAD software.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience in preparing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
• Knowledge of DFM and manufacturing processes.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple engineering tasks effectively.

Pay: From RM9,999.00 per month
