We are looking for an experienced and responsible Department Leader to join our Production Team in a food manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate should have experience leading production workers and preferably have hands-on experience operating or handling production machinery.

Candidates without direct machine-handling experience may also apply, provided they have at least 2 years of experience in a Leader / Team Leader / Line Leader or similar supervisory role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise daily production activities within the assigned department.
• Ensure production runs according to the daily production plan and target.
• Monitor workers’ attendance, manpower allocation and work performance.
• Assign duties and arrange workers according to production requirements.
• Ensure workers follow SOPs, work instructions and production procedures.
• Monitor machine operation and ensure machines are operated correctly and safely.
• Assist in machine setup, basic adjustment and troubleshooting where applicable.
• Report machine breakdowns, abnormalities or production issues to the Supervisor / Maintenance Team.
• Ensure production output meets required quantity and quality standards.
• Minimize production wastage, downtime and unnecessary delays.
• Ensure raw materials, WIP and finished products are properly handled.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping within the production area.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Hygiene and company requirements.
• Monitor workers’ discipline and ensure instructions are followed.
• Train and guide new workers and operators.
• Ensure workers understand their job responsibilities and machine operation.
• Maintain proper production records and report daily production issues.
• Assist Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor in monitoring department performance.
• Cooperate with Production, QC, Maintenance, Store and other related departments.
• Immediately report any quality, safety, machine or manpower issues to the responsible superior.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years of working experience as a Leader, Team Leader, Line Leader, Department Leader or similar position.
• Experience in a food manufacturing / food processing factory is highly preferred.
• Candidates with experience handling or operating production machines will have an added advantage.
• Experience with machines such as packing, moulding, mixing, coating, processing or other food production machinery will be an advantage.
• Candidates without machine-handling experience may still apply if they have strong leadership experience and are willing to learn.
• Able to lead and manage production workers effectively.
• Able to understand and follow production SOPs and work instructions.
• Basic understanding of production planning, quality control and workplace safety.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible, disciplined and able to work independently.
• Able to work under pressure and achieve production targets.
• Willing to work overtime, shifts or on weekends when required.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a factory environment.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE

• Are willing to learn different production processes.
