To support and execute the hotel's sales and marketing strategies to increase room occupancy, room revenue, banquet and event revenue, food & beverage sales, corporate business and overall hotel profitability.
The Sales & Marketing Executive is responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, promoting hotel products and services, conducting sales activities, and achieving assigned sales targets.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Sales & Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities from corporate companies, government agencies, travel agencies, tour operators, associations, institutions and other potential clients.
- Conduct sales calls, client visits, presentations and business meetings to promote hotel products and services.
- Develop and maintain a strong database of corporate and potential clients.
- Follow up on sales leads, enquiries, quotations and proposals.
- Promote hotel rooms, meeting rooms, banquet facilities, restaurants, packages, events and other hotel services.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets assigned by management.
- Identify potential accounts and convert prospects into active hotel clients.
- Explore opportunities for long-term corporate rate agreements and business partnerships.
- Conduct market visits and competitor checks to identify business opportunities and market trends.
- Prepare sales proposals, quotations, packages and presentations according to customer requirements.
B. Corporate & Government Accounts
- Establish and maintain good relationships with corporate and government clients.
- Conduct regular sales visits to existing and potential accounts.
- Promote corporate room rates, meeting packages, seminars, conferences and corporate events.
- Identify government departments, GLCs, private companies and organisations with potential accommodation and event requirements.
- Monitor account production and recommend appropriate actions to increase business.
- Ensure corporate clients receive professional and timely service from enquiry to post-event follow-up.
C. Banquet, Events & MICE Sales
- Promote hotel facilities for meetings, seminars, conferences, weddings, dinners, corporate functions and social events.
- Handle enquiries and coordinate with the relevant departments to prepare suitable event proposals.
- Conduct site inspections for potential clients.
- Follow up with clients after quotations and presentations.
- Assist in coordinating events from confirmation until completion.
- Develop MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) business opportunities.
- Maintain good relationships with event organisers, wedding planners, associations and corporate event planners.
D. Marketing Activities
- Assist in developing and implementing hotel marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
- Promote hotel products through appropriate online and offline marketing channels.
- Assist in managing hotel social media content, campaigns and promotional materials.
- Coordinate with the marketing team or external agencies for advertising and promotional activities.
- Assist in developing promotional packages for rooms, F&B, events and festive periods.
- Monitor customer responses and campaign performance.
- Support hotel events, roadshows, exhibitions, sales blitzes and promotional activities.
- Identify suitable marketing channels and partnerships to increase hotel visibility.
E. Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Assist in maintaining the hotel's presence on social media platforms.
- Coordinate promotional content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
- Assist in preparing marketing content, photographs, videos, posters and promotional materials.
- Monitor social media engagement and customer feedback.
- Work with relevant departments to ensure promotional information is accurate and updated.
- Support online campaigns designed to increase room bookings, restaurant sales and event enquiries.
F. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Conduct regular customer follow-ups to understand their business needs.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of client contacts, sales activities and business opportunities.
- Conduct post-event and post-stay follow-ups to obtain customer feedback.
- Encourage repeat business and referrals from existing customers.
- Maintain professional communication with clients through telephone, email, WhatsApp and face-to-face meetings.
G. Sales Administration & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales activity reports.
- Maintain records of sales calls, client visits, appointments and business leads.
- Monitor sales performance against assigned targets.
- Prepare sales forecasts and updates for management.
- Maintain proper records of quotations, contracts, corporate rates and client correspondence.
- Provide regular updates on market trends, competitor activities and potential business opportunities.
- Assist in preparing departmental budgets and sales action plans where required.
H. Hotel Collaboration
- Work closely with Front Office to maximise room sales and occupancy.
- Coordinate with Food & Beverage and Banquet teams to secure event and function business.
- Work with Revenue Management / Reservations on room rates and availability.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security and other departments to ensure smooth delivery of client requirements.
- Communicate confirmed sales arrangements accurately to relevant departments.
- Participate in hotel meetings and cross-departmental activities.

- Continuously search for new revenue opportunities for the hotel.
- Develop new accounts and partnerships.
- Explore opportunities with local businesses, government agencies, universities, colleges, associations and tourism organisations.
- Develop strategic partnerships with travel agents, tour operators, event organisers and online platforms.
- Identify opportunities to increase hotel occupancy during low-demand periods.
- Recommend new packages and promotional initiatives based on market demand.
- Conduct research on competitors' pricing, packages, promotions and market positioning.
6. CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Ensure all customers receive professional and courteous service.
- Respond to customer enquiries within an appropriate timeframe.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally.
- Escalate serious customer issues to the Assistant Sales Manager / Hotel Manager when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.
- Ensure commitments made to customers are properly communicated and followed through.
8. QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in hotel sales, hospitality, tourism, marketing or business development is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong communication and sales skills may be considered.
- Experience in hotel sales, corporate sales or MICE will be an advantage.
Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
