Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Learning & Development Coordinator position. The successful candidate will manage onboard training programmes, maintain training records and coordinate crew welfare initiatives to support continuous learning, engagement and career development.

Build your international learning and development career while working at sea and travelling to destinations around the world. The vessel, itinerary and sailing region will be assigned by the company based on operational requirements.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based organisational structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Learning & Development Coordinator, Trainer, Onboard Trainer or in a similar position.

• Experience delivering training in a multicultural environment; onboard experience is an advantage.

• Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching and communication skills.

• Able to guide crew members, supervisors and department heads in their professional development.

• Strong administrative and organisational skills.

• Proficient in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

• Able to work independently when delivering training and collaborate with ship management when planning schedules and identifying development needs.

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Flexible, stress-resistant and committed to teamwork.

• Guest-focused and service-oriented with strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills.

• Professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards.

• Previous experience within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality, cruise or service environment is an advantage.

• Must comply with the cruise line’s appearance standards, including its policy regarding visible tattoos.

Salary

• Salary: USD 3,400

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Plan, manage and evaluate onboard classroom and e-learning programmes.

• Deliver onboarding, guest-service, leadership and other company training programmes.

• Coach department heads, supervisors and crew members to support career development and succession planning.

• Prepare the monthly training calendar in coordination with HR and operational departments.

• Maintain accurate training records, reports and employee data in the relevant system.

• Assess training needs and collaborate with onboard leadership and the Human Resources Manager on performance improvement.

• Gather feedback, monitor training outcomes and prepare regular effectiveness reports.

• Participate in Train-the-Trainer sessions and learning meetings for new training content.

• Coordinate crew welfare programmes, activities, meetings and onboard communications.

• Manage crew welfare and training inventory, including the onboard bicycle rental programme.

• Support crew sign-on processes during periods of high employee turnover.

• Assist with special projects and other duties assigned by the onboard Human Resources Manager.
