Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Assistant Systems Manager position. The successful candidate will support the Systems Manager in maintaining onboard IT infrastructure, resolving technical issues and assisting crew and guests with technology-related needs.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience supporting IT systems, application users, operations or systems administration.

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

• Formal training in relevant IT hardware and software is required.

• Able to troubleshoot and repair PCs, printers and related hardware.

• Experience with operating systems and general network, server and cabling support.

• Experience with MXP software is preferred.

• Proficient in PC-based databases, spreadsheets and word-processing software.

• Strong administrative, troubleshooting and user-support skills.

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Guest-focused, service-oriented and able to explain technical matters clearly.

• Flexible, dependable and able to provide critical technical support outside normal working hours when required.

Salary

• Salary: USD 3,000

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Support the Systems Manager in maintaining onboard computers, servers, networks, cabling systems and related IT equipment.

• Perform daily IT operational tasks according to technical run books and procedures.

• Troubleshoot and repair computer, printer and workstation hardware.

• Respond promptly to technical support requests from crew members and onboard departments.

• Provide user training and support for common PC applications and specialised property-management systems.

• Support point-of-sale terminals and other operational systems used onboard.

• Assist with guest-facing technology, including televisions, telephones and digital signage.

• Help guests troubleshoot Wi-Fi connections, personal devices and the cruise line’s mobile application.

• Serve as an IT liaison for guests and provide clear, professional technical assistance.

• Keep the leadership team informed of IT issues that may affect onboard operations.

• Conduct assigned IT store inventory checks twice monthly before full loading.
