Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

At least 3 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a related role.

Strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and database technologies.

Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.

Experience with database backup and recovery procedures.

Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to handle high-pressure production issues and be on standby/on-call support.

Design and implement database structures to support business applications and ensure data integrity.

Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and IBM DB2.

Manage multi-tenant Oracle architectures (CDB/PDB) where applicable.

Monitor database performance across various platforms, identify bottlenecks, and apply patches or new versions as required.

Perform tuning tasks to optimize database operations and resource utilization.

Analyze and resolve performance issues using tools like AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports.

Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies (e.g., RMAN) to ensure data protection and availability.

Setup and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard (Physical/Logical/Active).

Implement and maintain database security measures to protect data from unauthorized access, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.

Manage security features like TDE (Transparent Data Encryption) and unified auditing.

Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud-based infrastructure (experience with AWS is a plus).

Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database applications.

Work with global teams to manage and deliver globally managed services, providing cross-country support.

Provide on-call support and work outside regular hours when necessary to resolve critical issues or perform scheduled maintenance.
