• Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding with hands-on

  customs clearance & declaration

• HS/HTS code classification

• uCustoms / ZB submission

• Duty/tax structure

• Import/export permits & regulatory procedures

• Familiar with FCL, LCL, Airfreight, Cross-border, and DG cargo handling.

• Good analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.

A. Customs Clearance & Regulatory Compliance

• Lead and supervise the end-to-end customs clearance process for import and export shipments.

• Ensure accurate HS/HTS code classification, tariff application, and duty/tax calculations.

• Review and approve customs declarations (K1, K2, K4, K8, K9, etc.).

• Liaise with Customs and government authorities including MAQIS, SIRIM, MITI, KKM, CIDB, and other regulatory bodies.

• Manage ZB submissions via uCustoms, including document verification, exemption applications, and approval follow-ups.

• Ensure compliance with INCOTERMS, import/export licensing requirements, permits, and duty exemptions.

• Stay updated on customs regulations, tariff revisions, and government policies.

B. Freight Forwarding Operations

• Oversee daily freight forwarding operations for air, sea, road, cross-border, FCL/LCL, and break-bulk shipments.

• Coordinate carrier bookings, freight negotiations, and logistics with shipping lines, airlines, and transport providers.

• Monitor shipment progress to ensure timely delivery and collection.

• Review and manage shipping documentation, including Bill of Lading (BL), Air Waybill (AWB), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin (COO), and insurance documents.

C. Documentation & System Management

• Review import and export documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

• Manage declaration submissions through uCustoms and MyTradeNet.

• Maintain complete and accurate records for Customs, internal, statutory, and ISO audits.

• Coordinate manifest submissions and post-declaration amendments when required.

D. Customer & Vendor Management

• Act as the primary contact for customers regarding customs clearance, shipment updates, and issue resolution.

• Advise customers on HS code classification, duty estimation, and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, port operators, customs authorities, and government agencies.

E. Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and supervise customs officers, declaration staff, and freight forwarding executives.

• Allocate workloads, monitor team performance, and ensure high service standards.

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for customs clearance and forwarding operations.

F. Cost & Performance Management

• Negotiate freight rates and customs clearance charges to maximize profitability.

• Verify supplier invoices and ensure cost accuracy.

• Monitor departmental KPIs, including clearance turnaround time, operational efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
