- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.

- Minimum 5 years of relevant ICT experience, preferably in a large enterprise or international organization.

- Experience in Linux administration, Azure/Cloud platforms, Kubernetes, container technologies (Docker/Podman), CI/CD, Git, automation tools (Ansible/Terraform), and Bash/PowerShell scripting.

- Knowledge of databases, networking, virtualization, storage, backup & disaster recovery, and systems monitoring.

- Relevant certifications in RHEL, cloud platforms, or virtualization are an advantage.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and adapt to evolving technologies.

Functional Knowledge and Skills

• Deep expertise in administering enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, or Rocky Linux), including core system initialization, kernel tuning, and lifecycle management.

• Hands-on experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and containerd, including writing optimized Dockerfiles and managing local registries.

• Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including control plane components, worker nodes, kubelet, and etcd.

• Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining production-grade Kubernetes clusters (on-premises or managed cloud providers).

• Ability to diagnose containerized workload failures using kubectl, checking logs, analyzing resource limits, and troubleshooting internal cluster networking.

• Proven experience building, maintaining, and optimizing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with modern continuous delivery and GitOps workflows using tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.

• Advanced proficiency with Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, and repository management.

• Strong capability to automate routine tasks and provision infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.

• Mastery in Bash scripting for system automation, log parsing, and scheduled maintenance tasks.

• Experience in DB2, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and OpenLDAP.

• Experience with monitoring services, Knowledge of the REST API and HTTP protocol.

• Experience with Cloudflare, DNS records and various Domain Providers.

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure technologies and services.

• Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell or other scripting languages

• Strong working knowledge of systems management, performance tuning and monitoring tools.

• Thorough knowledge of x86 based server installation, maintenance and troubleshooting, virtualization, networked storage systems, and backup and recovery systems with disaster recovery expertise.

• Able to effectively support many systems and users. Adaptability and flexibility for working in complex and changing environments and under pressure.

• Ability to work with limited supervision.

Summary of Assigned Duties

The Linux Administrator ensures proper management, operation, maintenance, and administration of enterprise-level networks and systems to ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of IDT services in WHO.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and maintain infrastructure and systems on Cloud platforms provisioned as SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, etc.

• Manage and administer the Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security.

• Assist in the support and maintenance of systems, databases or web applications hosted on-prem (including Linux systems) ensuring efficient deployment and utilization of servers.

• Assess system configurations, logs, and error messages; discern problems; and initiate preventative and corrective actions.

• Monitor IDT services and take detective, preventative or corrective actions to ensure system availability, confidentiality, and integrity.

• Resolve end user and technical issues ensuring proper operation, maintenance, and administration of IDT systems, active directory, messaging and collaboration systems, network services, file and print services, server provisioning, storage, backup, and recovery.

• Maintain standard operating procedures and other relevant documentation of operational systems and services, including a consolidated inventory of data center assets.

• Liaise with Premises Management services and external providers for management of Data Centre and related facilities in the Global Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
