We are a fast-growing, AI-driven global wealth-tech platform expanding across APAC, providing B2B wealth management products and technology solutions to banks, securities firms, family offices, asset managers, insurers and cross-border payment companies.

We are looking for a Technical Director / Head of Product & Engineering to build and lead our Malaysia R&D team from the ground up, supporting our APAC expansion.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Team size: 30–50 people (expected)

What you will do

• Build and lead the Malaysia product and engineering team from 0 to 1.
• Own delivery of wealth-tech / trading-related platforms, including product, engineering, QA, DevOps and release management.
• Work with regional leadership to define technical roadmap, architecture standards and delivery plans.
• Ensure system stability, security, scalability and compliance for financial services scenarios.
• Recruit, mentor and manage local tech talent; establish engineering culture and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, business and compliance stakeholders to turn business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience as a Technical Director, Head of Engineering, Head of Product & Engineering, VP of Engineering, or Senior Engineering Manager.
• Background in securities, brokerage, wealth management, trading systems, or financial technology (FinTech / WealthTech); prior experience with Hong Kong stock / US stock trading platforms is a strong plus.
• Strong track record of building and managing product and engineering teams, ideally 30+ people.
• Solid understanding of financial product workflows — account systems, order management, order execution, clearing & settlement, risk control, portfolio management, or wealth management platforms.
• Strong communication skills in Mandarin; able to work effectively with China-based leadership and APAC teams.
• High emotional intelligence, strong stakeholder management, and a hands-on leadership style.
• Comfortable with 0–1 team building, fast-moving environments and cross-border collaboration.
