About the Company

Our client is a global industrial technology company specializing in automated equipment, industrial control systems, remote monitoring solutions and connected technologies used across industrial and agricultural operations worldwide.

With a strong presence across APAC and regional operations based in Malaysia, the company is looking for a technically hands-on Systems Engineer / Technical Support Engineer to support the deployment, troubleshooting and integration of connected industrial systems across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers from industrial automation, controls, systems integration, IoT, networking, field applications, instrumentation or technical support backgrounds who enjoy solving complex technical problems and working across different countries and customer environments.

About the Role

You will provide technical engineering and troubleshooting support for integrated industrial systems, covering equipment, controllers, sensors, communication networks, gateways and cloud-connected monitoring platforms.

The role will involve a combination of technical support, system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, field engineering and regional technical coordination.

You will work closely with local engineering teams, customers, project teams, suppliers and global R&D functions to ensure systems are operating reliably and technical issues are resolved effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical support for industrial equipment, automation systems, connected devices and remote monitoring solutions.
  
• Troubleshoot issues involving hardware, software, controllers, sensors, communication networks and system connectivity.
  
• Support Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical escalations from local engineering and field service teams.
  
• Diagnose network and connectivity issues involving routers, switches, Wi-Fi, cellular gateways and other communication devices.
  
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment, system and connectivity problems.
  
• Work with global engineering and R&D teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  
  

System Integration & Commissioning

• Support installation, configuration, commissioning and testing of industrial systems.
  
• Integrate sensors, controllers, data acquisition devices, gateways and monitoring platforms.
  
• Verify communication between field devices, local control systems and cloud-based platforms.
  
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting and technical validation during new installations and project rollouts.
  
• Support site acceptance testing and system performance verification.
  
  

Industrial Networking & Connectivity

• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and connected equipment.
  
• Work with LAN, industrial Wi-Fi, cellular networks, routers, switches, gateways and remote connectivity solutions.
  
• Identify communication failures, signal issues, configuration problems and connectivity bottlenecks.
  
• Recommend practical improvements to network reliability and system performance.
  
  

Technical Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, SOPs and installation procedures.
  
• Document recurring technical issues and recommended solutions.
  
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to local engineering and service teams.
  
• Share technical feedback and improvement opportunities with regional and global engineering teams.
  
  

Regional Engineering Support

• Provide remote technical support to teams and customers across APAC.
  
• Travel to customer sites and project locations when required for commissioning, troubleshooting, audits and technical support.
  
• Support critical project deployments, system upgrades and new product introductions.
  
• Work with Sales and Project teams on technical feasibility, system configuration and customer requirements when necessary.
  
  
  
  

Requirements


Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  
• Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering or technical experience.
