Responsibilities

Overview Of The Role:

  • The Sales Advisor is responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service while maximizing sales through effective product handling and attractive merchandise displays. The role involves being a proactive multi-tasker who ensures customer satisfaction and implements strategies to boost sales. The Sales Advisor is expected to uphold company values and maintain a safe environment, while also being ready to perform tasks as assigned by supervisors.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service

  • Provide high standards of customer service as per M&S Way focusing on customer-centric approaches.
  • Ensure customers feel comfortable, welcome, and are courteously served.

Selling

  • Achieving sales through good salesmanship and excellent service.
  • Communicate seasonal highlights and promotions to customers to enhance sales.
  • Handle/display merchandise according to seasonal guidelines and make it attractive.
  • Develop product knowledge via training and briefings.
  • Ensure replenishment is efficient to minimize sales opportunity loss.
  • Provide feedback to superior on customer comments and contribute ideas to improve sales.

Merchandise Management

  • Accurate administration of stock movements, including delivery checks and stock transfers.
  • Count merchandise and complete administrative documents efficiently and accurately.
  • Report stock shortages to supervisor immediately.

Job Knowledge

  • Operate the till with high efficiency and accuracy, handling cash and credit cards correctly.
  • Utilize product knowledge to suggest products and promote benefits to drive sales.

Cost Control

  • Stay alert to prevent pilferage and stock loss on the sales floor and fitting room.
  • Report any internal pilferage by staff/shoplifters to management.
  • Use company property assets mindfully to avoid resource wastage.

Health & Safety

  • Always be safety conscious and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in both sales floor and Back of House.

Ad-hoc Duties

  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties given by managers.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Effective communication abilities in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Possess a pleasant and cheerful disposition.
  • Able to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Positive attitude with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Conversant in English.
  • Fashion-savvy, preferably with retail experience.
