Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting Compliance
Prepare and ensure the timely and accurate submission of financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards (MPERs).
Maintain and update the fixed assets register, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.
Collaborate effectively with external auditors to facilitate audits and address audit queries.
2. Taxation Compliance
Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, including preparing and submitting corporate tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and withholding tax filings.
Perform accurate tax and deferred tax computations in line with the Malaysian Income Tax Act.
Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess their impact, and provide regular updates to the management team.
3. Process Improvement
Assist in implementing enhancements to financial reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure proper documentation and internal controls for all accounting and taxation activities.
4. Ad Hoc Assignments
Support management with financial reporting and taxation-related assignments, as required.
Participate in cross-functional projects to improve overall financial operations.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance.
Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of MPERs, the Malaysian Income Tax Act, and tax computations (including deferred tax).
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
