Software Development Consultant – Full Stack & Generative AI

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Tuas, Singapore

Work Environment: 3 days In-person, 2 days remote

Travel may be required to support client engagements and relationship development.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Consultant to provide technical leadership and build modern software solutions involving full-stack development, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and Generative AI. This is a highly hands-on position. You will contribute directly to frontend and backend development while also supporting architecture decisions, code quality, engineering standards, technical proposals, mentoring, and client discussions. The ideal candidate has extensive full-stack development experience, practical experience building AI-powered applications and AI agents, and the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor to both clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical leader for modern software solutions involving Artificial Intelligence and distributed systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications.
• Make significant hands-on contributions to both frontend and scalable backend development.
• Lead and conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of quality, security, maintainability, and engineering excellence.
• Design, develop, and integrate AI-powered applications using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and cloud-based AI/ML services.
• Contribute to cloud-native, event-driven, microservices-based, and distributed software architectures.
• Design and develop RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Participate in the preparation of technical proposals and ensure proposed solutions are scalable, feasible, and aligned with business objectives.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for technical innovation and continuous improvement.
• Mentor team members and contribute through technical training, architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Help define and improve engineering standards, software development practices, and technical governance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, particularly within the Generative AI ecosystem.
• Collaborate with technical and product leadership to deliver successful project outcomes and measurable business value.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Fluent English communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with international teams and clients.
• Extensive experience in full-stack software development.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, secure development, and engineering best practices.

Frontend Development

• Advanced experience with React.js and Next.js.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with state management tools such as Redux, Zustand, or similar libraries.

Backend Development

Strong experience with at least one of the following backend technology groups:

• Node.js, including NestJS or Express; or
• Python, including FastAPI or Django.

Additional backend experience should include:

• Designing and developing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Building microservices-based applications.
• Developing scalable and maintainable backend services.

Artificial Intelligence and AI Agents

• Hands-on experience working with Large Language Models.
• Experience designing or developing AI agents.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable orchestration frameworks.
• Experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or equivalent AI platforms.
• Strong understanding of:
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation
• Embeddings
• Vector search
• AI pipelines
• LLM application integration

Cloud and DevOps

• Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with relevant services such as:
• AWS Lambda
• Amazon ECS
• Amazon S3
• Amazon API Gateway
• Azure Functions
• Azure App Service
• Experience containerizing applications with Docker.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes is an advantage.

Databases

• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with NoSQL, caching, or search technologies such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.

Additional Skills:

• Proficiency with Git and modern source-code management practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and deploying Generative AI architectures in production.
• Knowledge of MLOps, model monitoring, AI evaluation, or AI observability.
• Experience with streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, or Amazon Kinesis.
• Experience building highly available and highly scalable distributed systems.
• Previous consulting experience or experience working directly with enterprise clients.
