About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer (Solar) to lead and scale the installation and project delivery operations for residential solar projects across Malaysia.

In this role, you will oversee the entire post-sales journey—from procurement and permitting through installation, commissioning, and regulatory approvals, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building scalable operational processes within a fast-growing renewable energy business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Coordinate subcontractors, installation partners, and field teams to ensure efficient project execution
  • Oversee regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with TNB, SEDA, NEM, ATAP, and ST requirements
  • Lead procurement, supplier management, inventory planning, and warehouse operations
  • Monitor project progress, operational KPIs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Develop and enhance operational processes, SOPs, and quality assurance standards
  • Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project delivery

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in solar operations, renewable energy, electrical contracting, or a related industry
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Proven experience managing residential solar installation projects from planning through completion
  • Strong understanding of Malaysia's residential solar ecosystem and regulatory framework
  • Experience managing subcontractors, installation crews, and field operations teams
  • Strong knowledge of residential solar PV systems, including solar panels, string and hybrid inverters, mounting structures, DC/AC electrical systems, and BOS components
  • Proficiency with CRM, project tracking, and reporting tools
