Discovering the Role



The role is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of data centre construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. The position involves coordinating project activities from engineering and site preparation through installation, testing and commissioning, project handover, and defect rectification. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal technical teams to ensure smooth project execution.



About the Role



Major Responsibilities



  • Project Delivery & Coordination
  • Support the delivery and completion of data centre construction projects according to approved schedules, budgets, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor site progress and ensure construction and installation activities are carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Participate in project planning, progress meetings, coordination meetings, and site inspections.
  • Identify potential project issues, delays, technical constraints, and interface conflicts and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Follow up outstanding project activities and ensure issues are resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Support project teams in achieving key milestones and successful project completion.
  • Engineering & Technical Coordination
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering requirements between different disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and review of project engineering packages and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate equipment and material requirements with suppliers, contractors, and project teams.
  • Ensure installations are carried out in accordance with approved designs, manufacturer requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications, RFIs, design changes, and site technical issues.
  • Support resolution of technical problems and construction-related issues.
  • Installation & Construction Supervision
  • Monitor and supervise installation activities carried out by contractors and subcontractors.
  • Review the quality of equipment installation, cabling, containment, piping, mechanical and electrical works, and other data centre infrastructure systems as applicable to the assigned discipline.
  • Coordinate installation interfaces between electrical, mechanical, ELV, fire protection, controls, security, ICT, and other specialist systems.
  • Ensure construction activities are properly coordinated to minimise clashes, rework, delays, and disruption to other trades.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed according to approved construction programmes.
  • Participate in inspections, quality checks, and site walkdowns.
  • Testing & Commissioning
  • Support testing and commissioning activities for data centre systems and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate pre-functional checks, inspections, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and related activities.
  • Review testing and commissioning procedures and ensure activities are properly planned and documented.
  • Coordinate with contractors, specialist vendors, consultants, and client representatives during testing and commissioning.
  • Identify, document, and follow up technical issues and defects until satisfactory resolution.
  • Ensure all outstanding testing, commissioning, and punch-list items are completed before project handover.
  • Project Handover
  • Support the project team during construction completion and handover activities.
  • Coordinate preparation and review of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, test reports, commissioning records, warranties, and other handover documentation.
  • Conduct final inspections and site walkdowns with relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and close outstanding defects, punch-list items, and technical issues.
  • Support the transition from construction to operations and ensure the facility is ready for operational use.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attend client and project coordination meetings when required.
  • Provide timely updates on project progress, technical matters, risks, issues, and outstanding actions.
  • Respond professionally to client technical queries and coordinate appropriate solutions.
  • Support the Project Manager in maintaining client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contractor & Subcontractor Management
  • Coordinate and monitor contractors and subcontractors involved in project execution.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, quality requirements, safety requirements, and project schedules.
  • Monitor contractor progress and productivity.
  • Follow up corrective actions, outstanding works, defects, and technical issues.
  • Coordinate specialist vendors and equipment suppliers where required.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable construction, engineering, quality, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in quality inspections, audits, testing, and site verification activities.
  • Ensure non-conformances and defects are properly documented and closed out.
  • Support implementation of project quality plans, inspection and test plans, and approved construction procedures.
  • Promote safe working practices and immediately escalate unsafe conditions or significant project risks.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project records, site reports, inspection records, technical submissions, RFIs, test results, and project correspondence.
  • Prepare progress updates and technical reports as required.
  • Track project actions, technical issues, defects, and outstanding works through to closure.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained throughout construction
