Your new company
Our client is a well-established organisation undertaking major technology modernisation initiatives across its internal business operations. They are looking for a seasoned Full Stack Developer specialising in both Java and modern JavaScript technologies to drive application design & development, contribute to project delivery, and work closely with the Engineering Manager to support the continued growth of the development team.

Your new role

• Co-lead the design, development, enhancement, maintenance, and delivery of internal business applications.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-quality software solutions.
• Translate business requirements into robust, maintainable, and efficient technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices to ensure software quality, security, and performance.
• Mentor junior developers through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Assign development tasks, monitor project progress, and provide support to team members when required.
• Participate in solution architecture discussions and contribute to technology roadmaps alongside senior engineering colleagues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes, software quality, and engineering standards.
• Promote the adoption of modern development methodologies and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of software development experience with a full-stack development background.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and related backend technologies and framework.
• Proven experience with modern JavaScript technologies, including React.js, Next.js, Node.js, Nest.js, or similar frameworks.
• Solid experience with Oracle Database, Redis, RESTful APIs, Git, and modern software development practices.
• Exposure to AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar solutions for code generation, testing, code review, and quality improvement is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of software architecture, application scalability, security principles, and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives within an engineering team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluent Cantonese and English communication skills; and is currently based in Hong Kong with a valid work permit.
