Position Summary:
As a Host/Hostess, you are the first point of contact and the lasting first impression of the restaurant. You play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences through warm hospitality, efficiency, and attention to detail. With a strong understanding of menus, ingredients, guest preferences, and reservation systems, you ensure a smooth guest flow while upholding the highest standards of service excellence.
As an essential member of the Food & Beverage team, you are responsible for greeting guests with professionalism. Utilizing OpenTable, manage reservations, review daily bookings, accommodate walk-in guests, and to be familiar with frequent guests' details. This role requires strong organizational skills, awareness of service flow, and the ability to balance guest satisfaction with operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests promptly and courteously at appropriately prepared tables according to party size and guest preference.
- Set up and maintain the host/hostess stand, review the daily reservation book, and assist in planning the room setup.
- Manage the station chart and monitor cover counts, ensuring balanced seating based on each server’s workload capacity and ELSE service standards.
- Operate OpenTable efficiently, including handling reservations, no-shows, cancellations, and overbookings, and communicate updates to management to maximize revenue.
- Answer telephone calls in accordance with ELSE standards and provide accurate information regarding the restaurant and other hotel services.
- Estimate wait times accurately, manage the guest waiting list, and ensure guest comfort and satisfaction while waiting.
- Develop and maintain a complete working knowledge of menus, ingredients, daily specials, and unavailable items.
- Inspect daily menus to ensure proper quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to inquiries or concerns, and recognize regular guests by name.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
- Check work schedules and ensure punctuality at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas before, during, and after service.
- Assist with proper table setup, make minor adjustments, and rearrange tables to accommodate large parties.
- Support service operations by assisting with beverage and food preparation when required.
- Stock paper goods and bar supplies as needed.
- Assist in the cleaning of operational areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Intervene discreetly and professionally with potentially intoxicated guests, following responsible service procedures and avoiding embarrassment.
- Uphold the Food Safety and Hygiene Management System and ensure compliance with hotel standards.
- Follow Fire & Life Safety procedures and ensure awareness of emergency protocols.
- Maintain and protect the physical assets of the outlet, ensuring they remain in optimal condition.
- Complete special projects such as menu updates, signage, or other tasks as instructed by management.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum One Year Previous Experience in The Restaurant or Food & Beverage related position with other organizations.

Pay: RM2,600.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
