Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Audiologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing hearing and balance disorders in patients of all ages. The role includes conducting audiological evaluations, recommending and fitting hearing devices, providing patient counseling, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive hearing assessments using audiometric and electrophysiological testing.
  • Diagnose hearing loss, tinnitus, and vestibular (balance) disorders.
  • Conduct tympanometry, pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, OAE, ABR, and other audiological assessments as appropriate.
  • Recommend, fit, program, verify, and maintain hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
  • Provide hearing aid orientation, troubleshooting, follow-up care, and rehabilitation.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, and treatment options.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with ENT specialists, speech-language therapists, pediatricians, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients on hearing conservation and preventive hearing healthcare.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control, and healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Audiology (or equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant regulatory authority).
  • Professional registration or licensure as required by local regulations.
  • Experience in diagnostic audiology and hearing aid fitting is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates may be considered for junior positions.

  • Proficiency in audiology diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience with hearing aid technologies and fitting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good documentation and computer literacy.

Working Conditions

  • May involve working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Standing for extended periods and operating specialized diagnostic equipment.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
