The company serves the international laser application market with industrial laser machine process heads and advanced optical solutions. It is actively involved in research and development, creating small- to large-scale customized optical systems to meet diverse customer needs. Wavelength Opto-Electronic also provides QA/QC metrology solutions to support high-quality standards for clients in Singapore and worldwide. Team members collaborate closely with global partners and customers in a technologically advanced environment.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Singapore. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for laser machine process heads and optical systems, using CAD tools to create detailed models and engineering drawings. Daily responsibilities include performing mechanical analyses, supporting prototyping and testing, and working with cross-functional teams in optics and electronics to ensure reliable, manufacturable designs. The role involves contributing to R&D projects, improving existing products, troubleshooting mechanical issues in production, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The Mechanical Engineer will also coordinate with suppliers, support project timelines, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and internal quality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design validation.
  • Experience in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating cross-functional activities.
  • Background in Research and Development (R&D), with the ability to innovate and support new product development.
  • Open to fresh graduates with Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience in precision engineering, opto-mechanical design, or equipment for laser/optical applications is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
