PDR Group Hiring! Full Time Technical Solutions Engineer in Federal Territory - Ricebowl

We are partnering with a leading renewable energy company that is expanding its residential energy storage business across Southeast Asia. We are looking for an experienced Pre Sales Solution Engineer to support business growth by delivering technical solutions for residential solar and battery energy storage projects.

This role is preferably based in the Malaysia/Philippines. Candidates who are familiar with both markets are highly preferred. The successful candidate should be open to long term deployment in either country based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical pre-sales support for residential solar and battery energy storage (ESS) solutions across Southeast Asia
• Work closely with distributors, installers, EPC partners and end customers to understand technical requirements and propose suitable solutions
• Design residential ESS solutions, including system configuration, battery sizing, inverter selection, system architecture and technical documentation
• Prepare technical proposals, solution presentations, quotations, feasibility studies and tender documentation
• Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations and customer meetings throughout the sales cycle
• Perform site surveys and provide technical recommendations to ensure successful project implementation
• Deliver product, installation and commissioning training to distributors, installers and channel partners
• Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, grid regulations and certification requirements, providing valuable market feedback to headquarters
• Collaborate with product management, R&D, supply chain and delivery teams to optimise products and localised solutions for the Southeast Asian market

Requirement:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Automation or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in pre-sales, solution engineering or technical support within the solar PV and/or energy storage industry.
• Hands-on experience with residential energy storage systems and PV + ESS solution design is required.
• Strong understanding of residential ESS architecture, including battery systems, PCS/Inverters, BMS, EMS and grid-connected/off-grid applications.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, system configurations and customer-facing solution presentations.
• Familiarity with residential solar and ESS regulations, grid connection requirements and local market practices will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct technical discussions in English.
• Willingness to travel extensively and be based long-term in the Philippines or Malaysia according to business requirements.
