Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and production material flow activities, including
receiving, material movement, storage, kitting, production line replenishment, and shipping support. The role ensures materials are handled accurately, safely, and efficiently to support uninterrupted production operations while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily material handling activities including receiving, storage, material movement, kitting, production line replenishment, and shipping support.
- Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies while verifying quantity, part number, labeling, and packaging condition against delivery documents.
- Perform material transactions in ERP systems for receiving, transfer, issue, and inventory updates.
- Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, stored, and maintained according to warehouse procedures.
- Prepare production kits according to production schedules and material requirements.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and revision levels to ensure kit accuracy before releasing materials to production.
- Deliver materials and components to production areas to support continuous manufacturing operations.
- Monitor material availability at production lines and escalate shortages or issues to the Supervisor.
- Support inventory control activities including cycle counting, stock checks, and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies, damages, or material issues promptly.
- Support packing, labeling, and preparation of finished goods for shipment.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and forklifts (where authorised and trained).
- Follow FIFO, material traceability, safety, quality, and work instruction requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment through compliance with 5S practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve material flow, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate or training in warehouse, logistics, or material handling is an advantage.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or material handling operations preferred.
- Experience in receiving, inventory control, kitting, or production material support is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant training may be considered.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control processes.
- Ability to read and interpret part numbers, labels, work instructions, and material documents.
- Basic computer skills and ability to perform system transactions.
- Experience using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Knowledge of FIFO, Kanban, kitting, and line-side material replenishment processes is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and inventory transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
- Responsible, disciplined, and able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work shifts and support overtime when required.
