We are partnering with a well-established player in the Marine & Offshore industry on a confidential search for an Accounting Manager based in Singapore.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of the finance function, lead a small accounting team, and work closely with senior management to drive financial reporting, process improvements, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Review and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and finance processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.
- Support senior management with financial analysis, reporting, and other ad hoc projects.
The successful candidate should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA will be advantageous.
- 2–3 years of external audit experience, preferably gained with a reputable audit firm.
- 2–3 years of experience leading and managing an accounting team, with the ability to independently oversee the full finance function.
- Strong experience in intercompany accounting and group consolidation.
- Proven track record in managing and improving end-to-end financial closing processes.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly accounting modules.
- Sound knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with stakeholders across the business.
