Assistant Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

• Assist engineers in planning, coordinating and supervising mechanical installation works.
• Prepare drawings, method statements, material submissions and other project documents.
• Monitor site progress and ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Carry out site inspections, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Assist with material ordering, quantity take-off and equipment delivery.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection records and as-built drawings.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support maintenance or repair work.
• Perform other project-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or Mechanical Engineer.

Job Requirements

• Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; relevant site or construction experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, technical drawings and measurements.
• Able to use Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Willing to work at construction sites.
• Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with workers and project stakeholders.
• Responsible, safety-conscious and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
