Job Description

Responsibilities

The GPR Scanning Engineer plays a critical role in delivering accurate scanning and analysis for construction and infrastructure projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations - Xradar, this role involves client interactions, performing and analyzing scans, preparing reports, and delivering technical findings. The Utility Mapping Technician identifies and evaluates structural elements like rebar, post-tension cables, voids, corrosion, and delamination using advanced Xradar, GPR, and NDT technology.

Advanced Scanning Expertise

  • Operate and control GPR scanning and Electromagnetic Locators (EML) with precision.
  • Analyze scan results to identify and evaluate objects, including utilities and structural elements.

Technical Reporting

  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings, including slab thickness, voids, utilities, and other anomalies tailored for clients, consultants, and project managers.
  • Ensure reports align with client requirements and project specifications.

Client Interaction and Expectation Management

  • Present scanning benefits to clients and manage expectations effectively.
  • Foster long-term client relationships by delivering professional service.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams, such as Marketing and Commercial Teams, to ensure seamless integration of scanning insights into project planning and promotional activities.
  • Organize regular meetings with internal stakeholders to align goals, share progress, and brainstorm solutions for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Continuous Improvement and Mentorship

  • Analyze client feedback and past mistakes to identify areas for improvement, recommending strategies such as process optimization or adopting new technologies to the department head.
  • Mentor junior team members in scanning techniques and reporting while fostering knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team skills and collaborative problem-solving.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Geology / Geophysics / Civil & Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in GPR Scanning, Utility Mapping or NDT (Non-Destructive Testing).

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in GPR technology and equipment operation.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting scan data.
  • Familiarity with construction and structural engineering principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD for interpreting and creating technical drawings for reporting.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
