Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of Queensbury Cafe. The ideal candidate is a strong operator who can manage front and back-of-house staff, ensure excellent guest experience, control costs, and uphold food safety and service standards while helping grow the café as a destination in its own right.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day café operations, including opening/closing procedures, staff scheduling, and service flow
- Lead, train, and manage café staff (baristas, servers, kitchen crew) to deliver consistent, high-quality service
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency across the menu, including Queensbury Cocolac and chocolate-based items
- Manage inventory, stock ordering, supplier coordination, and cost control to minimise wastage and maximise margins
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery professionally
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
- Track daily sales, prepare operational reports, and support budgeting/forecasting
- Coordinate with the chocolate production and workshop facilitation teams to align café operations with brand events, promotions, and peak visitor periods
- Support marketing initiatives (in-café promotions, seasonal menus, social media content) in coordination with the marketing team
- Recruit, onboard, and manage performance of café staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming café environment for guests
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in café/F&B management, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Solid understanding of café operations: barista standards, food service, inventory, and POS systems
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (certification an advantage)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to stay composed during busy periods
- Financially literate — comfortable with budgets, cost control, and basic P&L understanding
- Customer-first mindset with a passion for hospitality and brand experience
- Able to work weekends/public holidays as needed
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
