Responsibilities

Role Description The Project Development Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya. This position is responsible for supporting the end-to-end development of solar and clean energy projects, from initial concept and feasibility assessment through design, permitting, and handover to execution teams. Daily tasks include conducting technical and financial analyses, preparing proposals and project documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The role also involves optimizing system designs, participating in site assessments, monitoring project progress against timelines and budgets, and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong analytical skills to perform feasibility studies, yield assessments, cost–benefit analyses, and risk evaluations.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical findings, and engage with clients, authorities, and partners.
  • Candidates should possess project development skills to support site evaluation, conceptual design, permitting processes, and preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Candidates should possess project management skills to plan tasks, track progress, manage timelines and resources, and support delivery of projects within scope and budget.
  • Candidates should possess solar energy knowledge to understand PV technologies, system design principles, performance modeling, and relevant standards and regulations.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in engineering (e.g., electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, or related field) and experience in solar or clean energy projects are highly beneficial.
  • Additional beneficial skills include proficiency with PV design and simulation tools, familiarity with local regulatory frameworks, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to sustainability and safety.
