The position reports to the Head of Group IT Strategy & Delivery.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a pragmatic, technically astute Solution Architect to join our Group Information Technology leadership team. You will be the go-to expert for designing, delivering, and governing high-impact technology solutions that are secure, scalable, cloud-optimized, and directly aligned with business needs.

• Designing cloud-native architectures leveraging modern practices such as containerization, serverless, IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code), and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Driving solution decisions through formal ADRs to ensure traceability, accountability, and alignment with architectural principles.
• Co-lead and co-own the Architecture Review Board (ARB), ensuring all major solutions are reviewed, challenged, and approved in line with prevailing standards.
• You will shape and deliver solutions across core initiatives such as SAP HANA (via RISE), CRM, CMS, Microservices, DevSecOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and Identity Management — spanning Wholesale, Enterprise, and Consumer business units.

Your work life:

Solution Design & Delivery

• Translate business requirements into solution blueprints that are cloud-first and resilient.
• Lead design of multi-tier, hybrid, and multi-cloud solutions, ensuring elasticity, cost-optimization, and security-by-design.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership during build, integration, and deployment.

Cloud Architecture Leadership

• Define and implement cloud adoption frameworks, migration plans, and reference architectures.
• Champion IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK) and automated deployment pipelines.
• Optimize workloads for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in the cloud.

Architecture Decision Management

• Own and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for all major initiatives, ensuring decisions are well-documented and communicated.
• Guide teams through trade-off analysis, balancing innovation speed with maintainability.

Architecture Review Board (ARB) Leadership

• Chair the ARB to evaluate, approve, and govern solution proposals.
• Ensure ARB decisions are aligned with enterprise standards, cloud strategy, and compliance frameworks.

Integration & Interoperability

• Drive integration of cloud-native and legacy systems for seamless interoperability.
• Design event-driven architectures leveraging tools like queues, API gateways, and service meshes.

Technology Evaluation

• Evaluate cloud provider services (e.g., AWS vs GCP) and recommend optimal fit for workloads.
• Keep abreast of emerging cloud trends (AI/ML services, edge computing, FinOps) and bring them into solution designs where relevant.
• Familiar with implementing modern frontend architecture (SSR/SSG/SPA/module federation, Tailwind, Vite, Rollup) and frontend frameworks (Nuxt.js, Vue.js, Next.js and React)

Business Partnering

• Partner with business units to co-create solutions delivering measurable business impact, in line with strategy taking into context Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles.
• Translate complex technical trade-offs into clear business value narratives via gap analysis, value streams and capability assessments.

To be considered, you’ll need:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 3+ years as a Solution Architect.
• Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-native and hybrid solutions.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP — multi-cloud exposure preferred.
• Solid experience in microservices, migration, integration patterns, and security.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or TOGAF advantageous.
• Experience leading ARB processes and managing ADR documentation.
