Job Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the Group’s financial operations, reporting, controls, budgeting and compliance, while ensuring accurate financial information and providing financial insights to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions for the Group and its subsidiaries.
- Manage and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review consolidated management accounts and financial statements.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning process.
- Monitor financial performance, including budget vs. actual, profitability, costs and key financial indicators.
- Establish and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, SOPs and governance processes.
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, statutory requirements, tax regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, bankers and other relevant authorities.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, banking facilities and treasury-related activities.
- Review major payments, expenditures, CAPEX and financial commitments according to the company’s approval authority.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to CEO and senior management for business and strategic decisions.
- Support management on business planning, investment evaluation, cost optimisation and financial risk management.
- Ensure effective financial controls and reporting across all subsidiaries/business units.
- Lead, coach and develop the Finance & Accounts team, ensuring clear responsibilities and strong performance.
- Support Board/management reporting and provide financial information for management meetings when required.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent is an advantage.
- Preferably 8–10 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, with several years in a managerial or financial controller capacity.
- Experience handling group accounts, consolidation and multiple subsidiaries/business units.
- Strong knowledge of MFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls and statutory compliance.
- Experience in a public listed company or diversified group of companies would be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is required, as the role involves communication and coordination with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders/business partners.
Pay: RM12,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
