Position Summary
Exyte Services Malaysia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Planner to support the planning and execution of fast-paced engineering and construction projects within the semiconductor industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated project schedules to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Candidates with experience in semiconductor manufacturing facilities, cleanroom construction, tool installation, or high-tech industrial projects are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, and project execution plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and clients to ensure schedule alignment.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and forecast project completion dates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and schedule performance metrics.
- Support resource planning and manpower forecasting.
- Track engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in project meetings and provide schedule updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with change management by evaluating schedule impacts arising from scope changes.
- Ensure compliance with company planning standards, project procedures, and client requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of project planning experience in engineering or construction projects.
- Experience in semiconductor facilities, cleanroom construction, tool installation, or high-tech manufacturing projects is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Primavera P6. Experience with Microsoft Project is an advantage.
- Good understanding of EPC/EPCM project execution.
- Knowledge of scheduling techniques, critical path analysis (CPM), and earned value management (EVM).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting semiconductor fabs or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with equipment/tool installation and commissioning activities.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of schedule recovery planning and delay analysis.
- Professional certification such as PMI-SP, PMP, or AACE is an advantage.
