Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Operations

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures aligned with ONYX Hospitality standards and local regulations.
  • Monitor and manage the daily operations of the security team to ensure effective coverage throughout the hotel premises.
  • Conduct regular security patrols and inspections to identify risks, vulnerabilities, or breaches.

2. Team Management

  • Lead, train, and supervise the security team, including scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Organize regular drills and training sessions for the team on emergency response, fire safety, and first aid.

3. Emergency & Crisis Management

  • Develop and maintain the hotel’s emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Serve as the key contact during emergencies, coordinating evacuation plans and liaising with emergency services.
  • Conduct periodic fire drills and ensure all fire safety equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.

4. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations concerning safety, fire codes, and security.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain records of security incidents and prepare reports for management.

5. Guest & Staff Safety

  • Oversee CCTV surveillance and access control systems to ensure guest and staff safety.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel policy.
  • Educate team members across departments on basic security awareness and protocols.

6. Coordination & Reporting

  • Maintain relationships with local police, fire departments, and emergency response agencies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on safety and security performance to the General Manager.
  • Support the hotel’s sustainability and energy-saving initiatives where relevant to safety.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Law Enforcement, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Certified in Fire Safety, First Aid, and Emergency Response Procedures.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiar with local security laws and government regulations.
