Job Summary
Plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance while coordinating stakeholders and optimizing resources for timely, cost-effective delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion to meet project goals
- Lead and coordinate site operations to ensure safe, efficient execution aligned with project specifications and approved drawings
- Develop and monitor project schedules to achieve milestones and completion dates on time
- Manage project budgets, costs, procurement, and resource allocation to control expenditures and optimize efficiency
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project delivery
- Review construction drawings, method statements, and technical submissions to verify compliance with project requirements
- Identify project risks and implement corrective and preventive measures to minimize delays and cost overruns
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), quality standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
- Attend project meetings, site inspections, and coordination meetings with clients and consultants to maintain alignment
- Monitor subcontractor performance, work quality, and progress to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations
- Resolve technical and operational issues promptly to maintain continuous project progress
- Prepare and submit progress reports, work schedules, variation orders, and project documentation for transparency and control
- Manage project manpower, machinery, materials, and logistics to optimize productivity and resource utilization
- Liaise with government agencies and authorities for inspections, approvals, and compliance requirements
- Mentor and supervise project engineers, site supervisors, and site staff to build team capability and ensure quality
- Ensure timely project handover, defect rectification, and completion of project close-out documentation
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience in Singapore’s construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, temporary works, structural works, and local authority requirements
- Familiarity with BCA, MOM, PUB, LTA, and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and other project management software
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating with consultants
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure
