Job Description

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, test and commission electrical equipment, control panels and related systems.
  • Perform electrical wiring, termination and connection work according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out testing, inspection, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Identify defective electrical components and recommend appropriate repair or replacement work.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance at customers’ premises and project sites.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration and testing of motors, variable speed drives, soft starters and motor-control equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Conduct electrical measurements and testing using appropriate testing instruments.
  • Verify that installed equipment operates according to the required specifications and safety standards.
  • Provide on-site technical support and respond to electrical breakdowns or equipment issues.
  • Prepare service, testing, maintenance and commissioning reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, test results and site findings.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, suppliers, engineers and other project personnel.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of electrical installation and maintenance work.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with workplace safety requirements, project specifications and company procedures.
  • Maintain tools, testing instruments and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Travel to different project or customer sites when required.
  • Perform overtime, weekend or after-hours work when required by project or maintenance schedules.
  • Perform other electrical and technical duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum secondary-school or high-school education, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant electrical technical training or certification would be advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, motors and motor-control equipment.
  • Experience with variable speed drives and soft starters would be advantageous.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Able to use electrical testing instruments safely and correctly.
  • Able to identify electrical faults and carry out appropriate corrective actions.
  • Able to prepare basic service, maintenance and commissioning reports.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety requirements for electrical work.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and cooperate effectively with the project team.
  • Responsible, safety-conscious and willing to perform hands-on site work.
  • Willing to travel to different work sites and work outside normal office hours when required.
