Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in managing construction projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate daily site activities and monitor project progress against schedules.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assist in reviewing construction drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Support project planning, resource allocation, and manpower coordination.
- Monitor project costs, progress claims, and work schedules in collaboration with the Quantity Surveying team.
- Coordinate with the Logistics and Machinery Department to ensure timely availability of equipment and materials.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to approved specifications.
- Identify project risks and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, meeting minutes, and documentation.
- Ensure all required permits and approvals are obtained before work commencement.
- Support the Project Manager in achieving project milestones and successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in civil, foundation, ERSS, or construction projects.
- Experience working on LTA or other public sector infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project).
- Knowledge of project planning, construction methods, and site coordination.
- Good understanding of construction safety requirements and WSH regulations.
- Strong communication, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
