Job Title: Production Roaster
Job Summary
The Production Roaster supports daily coffee production, quality control, product development, and production-related events. This role works closely with the Head Roaster to ensure consistent roast quality while assisting in cupping sessions, R&D projects, and coffee-related events.
Key Responsibilities
Roasting & Production Support
- Operating coffee roasting machines and preparing green beans for roasting
- Support roast profile execution and monitor roast data under supervision
- Assist with production scheduling and batch preparation
Quality Control & Cupping
- Assist in internal and external cupping sessions
- Prepare cupping tables, samples, and documentation
- Record cupping notes and help track quality consistency
R&D & Product Development
- Support R&D activities including sample roasting and test batches
- Assist in developing new coffee products, roast profiles, and seasonal releases
- Document results from trials and experiments
Events & Production-Related Activities
- Assist in coffee-related events such as cupping sessions, product launches, pop-ups, and training sessions
- Support production setup for events (coffee preparation, equipment, beans, logistics)
- Represent the brand during production-related events when required
Inventory & Handling
- Receive, weigh, store, and organize green and roasted coffee
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory tracking
Equipment & Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning and basic maintenance of roasting equipment
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in the roastery
Packaging & Fulfilment
- Assist with coffee packaging, labeling, and order preparation
- Support delivery and logistics for wholesale and retail orders
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong interest in specialty coffee and roasting
- Willingness to learn cupping, R&D, and production workflows
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
- Physically fit for production work
- Team player with good communication skills
Preferred (Added Advantage)
- Experience in coffee production or café operations
- Basic cupping or sensory evaluation skills
- Experience assisting in events or workshops
- Valid driving license
