Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a technically skilled Project Coordinator to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of critical cooling infrastructure projects at a premier data centre facility in Setia Alam. This role serves as the key bridge between project management, on-site operations, and external stakeholders, ensuring that all mechanical and cooling systems—from chillers and CRAC/CRAH units to BMS integration—are installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards of reliability and efficiency .

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience coordinating MEP works within mission-critical environments, with a strong emphasis on HVAC systems, vendor management, and project tracking. This position is based on-site in Setia Alam and requires proactive coordination to support data centre uptime and operational continuity .

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Facilitate cross-functional planning and day-to-day coordination of infrastructure, maintenance, and cooling-related activities within the data centre environment .
  • Monitor project milestones, maintenance schedules, deliverables, risks, and action items to ensure timely completion .
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractor teams to ensure technical alignment and adherence to delivery schedules .
  • Attend site progress meetings, technical reviews, and inspections; provide regular progress updates and detailed reports to management and stakeholders .

Technical Oversight (Cooling & MEP Systems)

  • Coordinate the installation, testing, and commissioning of precision cooling systems, including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and Building Management Systems (BMS) .
  • ·Support clash detection and resolution using BIM software (e.g., Navisworks, Revit) to ensure seamless integration of ACMV systems with other MEP services .
  • Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and method statements for compliance with project standards and safety regulations .
  • Troubleshoot site-related issues and escalate technical risks to the Project Manager promptly .

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate vendor scheduling, site access, contractor activities, and material intake, ensuring compliance with site safety protocols .
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth project implementation and timely approvals .
  • Participate in operational readiness activities, infrastructure planning meetings, and project handover processes .

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), progress records, and client communication logs .
  • Support the preparation and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and commissioning-related documents .
  • Ensure all MEP installations comply with local regulations, safety standards, environmental requirements, and data centre redundancy principles (e.g., Tier standards) .

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical discipline .
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination or engineering, preferably within data centre construction, mission-critical facilities, or cooling/HVAC systems .
  • Proven experience coordinating MEP works (ACMV, BMS, air conditioning, fire protection) and managing subcontractors in large-scale industrial projects .

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of cooling systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, precision cooling) and electrical distribution systems (UPS, PDUs, generators) .
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera P6) .
  • Familiarity with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) for clash detection and AutoCAD for layout sketches is a significant advantage .
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
