Job Description
To supervise and manage daily warehouse operations covering incoming materials receiving, material storage, kitting activities, and outbound shipping to ensure accurate inventory control, timely material availability, and efficient support to production and customer requirements. The role is responsible for leading warehouse personnel, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including:
- Receiving of incoming materials, components, and finished goods.
- Material inspection coordination and system receiving transactions.
- Material storage, identification, and inventory control.
- Production kitting and material staging activities.
- Packing and shipping of finished goods to customers.
- Ensure warehouse operations are executed according to production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Allocate manpower and prioritize daily tasks to meet operational targets.
- Monitor workflow and resolve operational issues impacting material flow.
- Ensure all incoming materials are received accurately against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality, and suppliers on receiving discrepancies, shortages, damages, or non-conforming materials.
- Ensure proper labeling, identification, and traceability of received materials.
- Monitor receiving accuracy and transaction completion in ERP systems.
- Manage material kitting activities to support production requirements.
- Ensure kits are prepared accurately, complete, and delivered to production according to schedule.
- Coordinate with Production Planning and Manufacturing teams to prevent material shortages or production interruptions.
- Monitor kit accuracy and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Ensure finished goods are packed, documented, and shipped according to customer requirements.
- Verify shipping documentation including packing lists, shipment labels, and delivery documents.
- Coordinate with Logistics providers to ensure timely shipment execution.
- Monitor shipping accuracy, delivery performance, and customer requirements compliance.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper warehouse practices and system transactions.
- Support cycle counting, physical inventory activities, and inventory reconciliation.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper FIFO / FEFO practices where applicable.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse operators, material handlers, and team leads.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance.
- Conduct shift briefings and communicate operational priorities.
- Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and work instructions.
- Support training and cross-training activities to improve workforce flexibility.
- dentify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Drive Lean / 5S initiatives within warehouse operations.
- Support process improvement projects to reduce material handling waste and improve turnaround time.
- Prepare and analyze operational performance reports.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse/materials experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience managing receiving, kitting, shipping, and inventory control activities.
- Experience using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and material flow.
- Good understanding of inventory control principles.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including Production, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, and Logistics
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Experience with cleanroom, precision manufacturing, or regulated industry environments.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning, warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP transactions.
- Experience managing shift-based warehouse operations.
