Job Overview

We are hiring a Cantonese Interpreter to provide real-time interpretation for medical, emergency (911), and general service calls. The role requires accurate, neutral, and professional interpretation between Cantonese and English speakers while handling sensitive and high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate and professional Cantonese-English interpretation.

Interpret spoken communication while maintaining the original meaning, tone, and context.

Listen carefully and convey information without adding, omitting, or changing the intended message.

Maintain professionalism, neutrality, accuracy, and confidentiality during all interpretation sessions.

Meet required productivity, quality, attendance, and login KPIs.

Comply with data privacy, confidentiality, and information-security requirements.

Participate in training, coaching, and quality improvement activities as required.

Requirements

Cantonese: Native level proficiency with the ability to speak, read, and write Mandarin fluently.

English: C1/C2 proficiency with strong verbal communication and comprehension skills.

Strong Mandarin-English interpretation, listening, comprehension, and communication skills.

Able to interpret conversations accurately, clearly, and professionally while maintaining confidentiality and neutrality.

Must be comfortable working 100% night shifts with no shift preference.

Shift start times may range from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM MYT, depending on operational requirements.

Each shift is 9 hours, consisting of 8 hours login/productivity time and 1 hour of breaks (2 × 15-minute breaks and 1 × 30-minute meal break).

Must have a dedicated, private, quiet, and distraction-free room suitable for interpretation calls.

Must comply with the WFH compliance audit, which may include providing a 360-degree video of the working environment.

Must comply with all confidentiality, data privacy, and information-security requirements.

Able to meet the attendance, productivity, quality, and performance requirements of the role.

Reliable, disciplined, and able to work independently from home.
