Role Overview
As an Accounts Executive in our office in Kuala Lumpur, you will be the backbone of our financial operations. You’ll manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring that our financial records are as precise and sustainable as the technology we develop. You will report directly to Financial Controller in Singapore with a dotted reporting line to the Country Manager, Malaysia.
This is a unique opportunity to apply financial rigor to a "Factory of the Future," integrating AI-driven automation and robotics with sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
· Full Set Accounting: Maintain accurate and timely full sets of accounts (AP, AR, and GL).
· Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management reports, bank reconciliations, and cash flow statements.
· Tax & Compliance: Assist in SST filings, corporate tax computations, and ensure compliance with Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards (MPERS).
· Inventory & Costing: Monitor inventory levels and cost of goods sold (COGS), which is vital for our tech-driven production.
· Audit & Secretarial: Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries for year-end audits and statutory filings.
· Claims: Process staff claims in a timely manner
· Cross-border support: Support HQ in identified accounting functions and invoicing activities for both Singapore and Malaysia entities.
· Sales order management: Acting as primary point of contact for order status updates, discrepancies or modifications.
. Import and logistic coordination: Ensuring all import/export documentation meets local and international regulatory requirements to avoid port delays
. Stock control and inventory management: Monitoring stock levels and triggering replenishment orders
. Delivery and order fulfilment: Optimizing delivery schedules to ensure efficiency and reduce fuel/transportation costs
. Reporting and administrative support: Generating reports on Lead Times, Order Accuracy, and Shipping Costs
· Ad-hoc tasks: As and when requested by Country Manager/ HQ
Who You Are
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in a tech or manufacturing startup environment is a plus.
· Attributes: High level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
· Communication: Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
Qualification/ Certifications
· Education: Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/CIMA).
· Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, Xero, or Million) and MS Excel.
