Job Description

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and coordination skills, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

Experience in Data Centres, Mission Critical Facilities, Industrial, Semiconductor, Commercial, or Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through to project completion and handover.
  • Develop and implement construction execution plans aligned with project objectives, programme, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  • Monitor construction progress against programme, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delays.
  • Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and statutory requirements.
  • Drive site safety by promoting a strong Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) culture and ensuring full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
  • Manage site resources, labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity and project efficiency.
  • Review construction methodologies and sequencing to improve safety, quality, and programme performance.
  • Lead site coordination meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Cost Managers, and Commissioning teams to resolve construction issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Review and approve subcontractor work plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, variations, and resource utilisation in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are implemented and maintained throughout construction.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and project handover.
  • Manage project documentation, reports, site records, and construction progress reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects in Singapore.
  • Experience managing projects within Data Centres, Industrial, Semiconductor, Commercial, Healthcare, or Mission Critical environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project planning, contract administration, and construction sequencing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary contractors and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of local building regulations, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements, and Singapore construction practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience monitoring project budgets, variations, and cost control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent is advantageous.
  • WSQ Workplace Safety and Health certifications.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
  • Experience with BIM coordination and digital construction tools.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC or other standard forms of construction contracts.
