The Human Resource & Training Officer supports EVOLV’s human resource functions and workforce development initiatives. The role is responsible for managing HR administration, recruitment coordination, employee engagement, performance management processes, learning and development programmes, and compliance with employment regulations. The officer will work closely with management and department heads to ensure that the organisation attracts, develops, and retains talent while fostering a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Operations
- Administer the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, confirmation, promotion, transfer, and offboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR databases.
- Support payroll administration by preparing and verifying monthly payroll inputs, leave records, claims, and benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Manage employee leave, attendance, and welfare matters.
- Assist in the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
- Prepare employment contracts, appointment letters, and onboarding documentation.
- Facilitate orientation for new employees.
Learning and Development
- Develop and maintain EVOLV’s annual training plan.
- Source, coordinate, and administer training programmes.
- Manage training registrations, attendance records, and training budgets.
- Track employee learning and development activities and maintain training records.
- Support leadership development, succession planning, and capability-building initiatives.
Performance Management
- Coordinate annual performance appraisal exercises and related documentation.
- Monitor performance review timelines and ensure completion by supervisors and employees.
- Support managers in implementing performance improvement and employee development plans.
- Maintain records relating to promotions, salary reviews, and performance outcomes.
Employee Engagement and Culture
- Organise employee engagement activities, team-building programmes, and staff events.
- Support employee communication and engagement initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee enquiries relating to HR policies and practices.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare HR reports including headcount, turnover, training participation, and recruitment metrics.
- Monitor HR and training budgets.
- Support audits, grant reporting, and HR compliance reviews as required.
- Undertake other HR and administrative duties assigned by management.
