Role Description The PROTÉGÉ ENGINEER role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bukit Gambir. The role involves assisting senior engineers in planning, coordinating, and monitoring infrastructure and civil engineering projects from design through execution. Daily tasks include supporting site supervision, documenting project progress, preparing technical reports and drawings, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The PROTÉGÉ ENGINEER will participate in meetings with project stakeholders, collect and analyze data, and help resolve technical issues under guidance from experienced engineers. This role is designed to provide structured mentorship, practical exposure on construction sites, and professional development within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Qualifications
  • Educational background in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline, preferably with knowledge of infrastructure and construction works.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents, with basic skills in using relevant engineering and design software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities to support project planning, site coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers, site personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, prepare documentation, and meet project deadlines.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices, quality standards, and basic knowledge of ISO and CIDB-related requirements is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn, adaptability to on-site work conditions, and a proactive attitude toward mentorship and professional growth.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and ability to travel to project sites when required.
