Job Summary
The Accounting Section Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, and leading the accounting team to support the company's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and fixed assets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate audits with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
- Review accounting transactions and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and financial planning.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MICPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of MFRS, taxation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is an added advantage to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and headquarters.
