Position Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineering Interns to join our growing engineering team for a period of 6 to 12 months.

This internship offers practical exposure to engineering consultancy, design, technical documentation, AutoCAD drafting, site inspections, testing, project coordination, and hands-on engineering activities. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on actual client projects while developing technical, analytical, and professional competencies.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Documentation & Reporting

  • Perform data entry and maintain engineering records, technical databases, project documentation, and document registers.

  • Prepare, compile, and generate engineering reports, inspection reports, testing reports, progress reports, and technical submissions.

  • Collect, organise, and analyse site information, measurements, photographs, and engineering data for reporting purposes.

  • Maintain proper document control, revision history, and filing of engineering documents.

Engineering Design & AutoCAD Drafting

  • Prepare, revise, and update Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).

  • Produce and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD, including electrical layouts, mechanical layouts, equipment layouts, schematic diagrams, and as-built drawings.

  • Verify drawings against site conditions and engineering requirements.

  • Assist in preparing drawings for client submissions, project execution, and final documentation.

Site Inspection & Engineering Works

  • Assist engineers in conducting site inspections, engineering surveys, measurements, and condition assessments.

  • Participate in inspections of mechanical, electrical, and building services installations.

  • Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and rectification works.

  • Carry out site measurements, equipment verification, and technical observations.

  • Assist in identifying defects, recording findings, and recommending corrective actions under the supervision of engineers.

  • Participate in hands-on engineering works to gain practical field experience.

Project Coordination

  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, coordination, and progress monitoring.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project stakeholders when required.

  • Attend project meetings and assist in preparing meeting minutes and follow-up actions.

  • Support engineers in engineering calculations, quantity take-offs, material verification, and project administration.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure engineering documentation complies with Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice, project specifications, and client requirements.

  • Support engineering audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.

  • Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company safety procedures during all office and site activities.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering Manager or Project Engineer.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Mechatronics Engineering

    • Building Services Engineering

    • Facilities Engineering

    • Engineering Systems

    • or other related engineering disciplines.

  • Available for a continuous internship period of 6 to 12 months.

  • Basic understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience with AutoCAD is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Good analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

  • Able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Willing to travel to project sites across Singapore.

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in both office and site environments.

Preferred Attributes

Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:

  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical schematics.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and Single Line Diagrams.

  • Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.

  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
