Requirements for an Excellent and Professional Cake Decorator / Baker

In addition to being able to make cakes, an excellent and professional cake decorator/baker is expected to possess strong technical skills, maintain high hygiene standards, and demonstrate creativity. The candidate should meet the following requirements:

Strong Baking Skills

Proficient in preparing different types of cake bases, including sponge cakes, chiffon cakes, butter cakes, and other varieties.

Skilled in whipping cream, filling, frosting, piping, fondant decoration, and chocolate decoration.

Able to independently troubleshoot common baking issues such as collapsed cakes, cracking, shrinkage, and coarse texture.

Food Safety and Hygiene Awareness

Maintain excellent personal hygiene and keep the workplace clean and sanitary.

Understand the proper storage, refrigeration, and freezing requirements for ingredients.

Prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety at all times.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail

Follow recipes precisely and measure ingredients accurately within acceptable tolerances.

Pay close attention to detail to ensure consistent product quality.

Time Management

Effectively schedule baking, cooling, decorating, and other production processes to meet deadlines.

Cost Control

Use ingredients efficiently and minimize waste to help control production costs.

Continuous Learning

Keep up to date with new baking techniques, decorating methods, and food safety standards.

Business Support

Be willing to work overtime when required to meet business and production demands.

Working Environment

Comfortable working in hot environments and able to tolerate heat when necessary.

Teamwork and Housekeeping

At the end of each working day, work together with the team to clean and organize all baking tools, molds, and equipment, ensuring the workplace remains clean, tidy, and well-organized.
