Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Description & Requirements:

Core Duties:

  • Manage the architectural scope during the construction phase, ensuring that design intent is accurately translated into site execution while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule.
  • Supervise and coordinate on-site architectural works, including finishes, façades, partitions, ceilings, doors/windows, waterproofing, and other building elements, with a strong focus on buildability and workmanship.
  • Act as the primary architectural interface between the construction team, subcontractors, design consultants, and the client’s representatives at site level, resolving day-to-day architectural issues promptly.
  • Review and coordinate subcontractor shop drawings and material submissions, ensuring they are constructible, compliant with contract specifications, and aligned with the approved design.
  • Track the issuance and updates of architectural construction drawings, control the master drawing and shop drawing register, and ensure that latest revisions are properly distributed to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Monitor the quality of architectural works through regular site inspections, identify non-conformities, and work with the QA/QC team to implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with C&S and MEP teams to resolve clashes and interface issues (e.g., structural penetrations, MEP routes, ceiling voids) during installation.
  • Liaise with subcontractor’s Professional Engineers (PEs) and technical teams to ensure their design interfaces are properly integrated and approved before installation.
  • Prepare and issue technical queries (TQs) to consultants/clients for design clarifications, and follow up on responses to avoid delays.
  • Attend and contribute to site coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress reviews, presenting architectural-related issues and proposing practical solutions.
  • Support the Contractual/QS team by providing input on architectural variations, cost implications, and site-measured quantities.
  • Ensure all architectural works comply with BCA, URA, PUB, LTA, SCDF regulations and relevant codes (Fire Code, Barrier-Free Code, Green Mark), and assist in authority inspections for TOP/CSC.
  • Manage and mentor a small internal architectural support team (architectural engineers/coordinators) to ensure tasks are allocated and site priorities are met.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimally 10 years of relevant experience in architectural site supervision and coordination within Singapore’s construction industry, with a proven track record on large-scale building projects.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of architectural construction techniques, material applications, and typical site installation sequences.
  • Familiarity with Singapore building regulations and submission processes (BCA, URA, PUB, LTA, SCDF), including practical experience in TOP/CSC inspections.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, identify clashes, and propose workable field solutions.
  • Proven experience in managing subcontractor interfaces across multiple trade packages (curtain wall, roofing, joinery, waterproofing, etc.).
  • Good understanding of quality standards for architectural finishes and ability to enforce compliance with project specifications.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to bridge between site teams, consultants, client, and subcontractors – with a pragmatic, problem-solving attitude.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 (or similar CDE) for viewing and coordinating models; ability to review BIM clashes and guide subcontractors.
  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline. Professional certification (e.g., Registered Architect) is an advantage but not essential.
  • Must be comfortable working primarily on-site and responding to fast-changing site conditions, while maintaining documentation discipline.
