Job Description

Responsibilities

The Regional Manager – Middle & Back Office leads the regional trade support function, providing independent oversight across the complete trade lifecycle from trade capture through clearing, settlement, valuation and market risk reporting.

Based in Singapore, the role combines operational leadership, Trade Control, Middle & Back Office, market risk oversight and ETRM ownership while partnering with Trading, Finance, Treasury, Credit and IT to support a growing Asia-Pacific commodities business.

The successful candidate will provide robust independent challenge to Trading, constructively questioning commercial rationale, valuations, trading strategies and risk exposures. Initially managing one direct report, the role will build a scalable function and implement new governance, controls and risk management processes as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead and develop the regional Middle& Back Office function, initially comprising one direct report, with responsibility for growing the team over time as business growth allows.

·        Own trade capture governance across physical and derivative commodity transactions covering Oil, Refined Products and LNG.

·        Act as Business Owner for the NOVA ETRM platform, driving enhancements, testing, process improvements, automation and system integration.

·        Oversee independent daily P&L production, mark-to-market validation, pricing controls, position and exposure reporting.

·        Compute, validate and analyse Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing and other market risk measures, investigating material movements and challenging assumptions, models and data inputs.

·        Act as an independent control function, constructively challenging traders on deal economics, valuation methodologies, hedging strategies, exposure concentrations and commercial rationale.

·        Lead exchange clearing, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations and initial/variation margin processes.

·        Implement new Trade Control, Middle & Back Office and operational risk processes, policies and governance frameworks to strengthen controls and support business growth.

·        Drive automation, straight-through processing and continuous process improvement initiatives while supporting audits and regulatory compliance.
