Data-Centric Engineering (Malaysia) Hiring! Full Time Lead Electrical and Mechanical Engineer (Data Centre Commissioning) in Federal Territory - Ricebowl

Location: Johor Bahru & Kuala Lumpur

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical and mechanical commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage commissioning teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to achieve project milestones.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, commissioning plans, and testing procedures.
• Develop and oversee commissioning schedules, test scripts, inspection checklists, and system turnover documentation.
• Lead pre-functional, functional, integrated systems testing (IST), and performance testing for mission-critical systems.
• Coordinate site readiness with construction, QA/QC, safety, and project management teams prior to commissioning.
• Monitor commissioning progress, identify project risks, resolve technical issues, and remove execution blockers.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and equipment energisation activities.
• Review and approve commissioning documentation, punch lists, test reports, and final handover packages.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to commissioning engineers and junior team members.
• Attend client meetings and provide regular commissioning progress updates.
• Support continuous improvement of commissioning processes, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years leading commissioning activities for mission-critical or data centre projects.
• Proven experience commissioning both electrical and mechanical systems within hyperscale or enterprise data centres.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes from Level 1 through Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and project handover.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
