Responsibilities:

· Analyze policyholders, claims, and underwriting data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for business improvement.

· Support automation and decision-making processes using AI and machine learning.

· Build predictive models for risk assessment, fraud detection, customer lifetime value, and pricing optimization.

· Collaborate with actuaries, underwriters, and business stakeholders to develop data-driven strategies.

· Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

· Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., BNM, GDPR).

Provide roadmap for Data-Driven Strategy and Operating Model

· Defines ML Re’s enterprise Data & AI strategy and operating model (including the architecture and infrastructure) aligned with corporate strategic objectives.

· Lead the development and execution of transformation roadmap towards target-state data strategy and operating model, including g the implementation of centralized data platform, BI reporting and its related analytical capabilities.

· Review new business needs, strategic initiatives and enterprise data requirements, and translate them into overall data and target-state operating models.

· Institutionalize Information Architecture capabilities for ML Re as a key pillar of the data operating model.

· Translate data strategy and transformation into operations, policies and procedures for effective administration, adoption and utilization.

Ensure Operational Excellence for Analytics

· Act as Operational Data Steward through defining and institutionalizing Data Governance framework in the governance of defined data strategy and operating model.

· Institutionalize standards and processes for data retention, data policy and regulatory compliance within centralized data platform.

· Execute change management effort across organizations to implement Enterprise Data Governance Policy.

· Lead as secretariat to Data Steering Committee to influence and shape enterprise data governance.

· Institutionalize suitable industry-wide data quality metrics, data issue management and resolution.

· Set up the data strategic pillars, framework, tools for data operational excellence - e.g. implementation of tableau / power BI metrices etc.

· Define the SLAs for operational excellence and guide team on meeting SLAs using data insights.

· Build data literacy and capability across divisions by working with ML Re Development to curate relevant training and best practice sharing sessions.

· Cultivate a network of data stewards/champions via the Data Community of Practice to embed data practices in everyday workflows.

· Provide guidance and technical support to staff in applying data standards, tools and analytical methods.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Certification in key skills like Data Management Professional (CMDP) / Project Management Professional / Certified Business Analyst is a plus

· 5+ years of experience in data science, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.

· Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

· Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow).

· Strong understanding of insurance concepts such as underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and regulatory compliance.

Pay: Up to RM12,000.00 per month
