Job Description

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an Embedded Device Engineer (C++) to join our engineering team and support the development and certification of Android devices for telecom network testing solutions. You will play a key role in enabling new device support, developing embedded applications, integrating mobile chipsets, and ensuring accurate LTE & 5G network measurements across multiple device platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Android device certification (TEMSification), including bootloader unlocking, Magisk patching, testing, and licensing.
  • Validate and certify Android devices for TEMS network testing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain embedded applications and C++ components for TEMS Pocket and TEMS Sense.
  • Implement chipset-specific features for Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Samsung devices.
  • Develop Android On-Device Manager (ODM) modules using Java/Kotlin.
  • Analyze LTE & 5G network signaling, protocol behavior, and RF performance.
  • Support chipset integration, modem diagnostics, and control functions.
  • Troubleshoot device-level measurement issues affecting network accuracy.
  • Maintain device qualification procedures and testing tools.
  • Support customer escalations and continuously improve device performance and reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience with embedded systems.
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin Android development.
  • Knowledge of Android internals (Magisk, rooting, bootloader unlocking, system access).
  • Strong understanding of LTE & 5G NR technologies.
  • Experience with 3GPP signaling protocols.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Qualcomm QXDM, Samsung Exynos, or MediaTek chipsets.
  • Knowledge of TEMS, Nemo, or other drive-test solutions.
  • Experience in telecom network testing, optimization, or benchmarking.
  • Android system engineering, custom ROMs, or Magisk module development.
  • Python scripting and Git/GitHub CI/CD experience.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Petaling Jaya
